The Academy for the Talented
The HKU Academy for the Talented has long been a unique membership-based system that brings talented students around the world together, aiming at untapping their intellectual potential and enhancing their holistic development. Every year, the Academy recruits the best of the best to join our exclusive programmes, which span across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to medicine, law, engineering, social sciences, dentistry, business, and arts.
How to Become a Member of the Academy
Membership Application is intended for the intake of new members only, current members of the Academy are only invited to re-register in the new system.
The Academy welcomes applications from current S3 – S5 / Grade 9 – 11 / Year 10 – 12 students in top 20% of the school with outstanding performance or achievements in the following area(s):
- STEM (e.g., Mathematics, Science, Informatics Competitions/Olympiad)
- Innovations (e.g., Robotics or Business Competitions)
- Languages and Debate (e.g., Writing Competitions, MUN, Mooting Competitions)
- Music (e.g., International Competitions)
- Sports (e.g., International Competitions)
- Community Services (e.g., Awards Received from Community Services)
This year’s practice will be different to previous years. A step-by-step guide of the application process is as follows:
- Please register an account HERE
- Log-in to the application system after receiving email activation link
- Select "Apply Now" under 2025 Application
- Fill in your personal information, academic profile and membership application
- Upload the scanned copies of your supporting documents required for application and select "Confirm & Submit"
- Your application will be reviewed by schools and our committee
Membership Fee: There is no membership fee to become Academy member.
